So my Jeep is starting to slip a little bit and I was wondering what transmission additive I could add that might help out?

Ill assume its an automatic.

Assuming you have checked the fluid and it is at the correct level, and not old and burnt up, I can offer this advice:

SAVE YOUR MONEY and have it rebuilt. I stopped by North Raleigh Transmission on Atlantic Ave a while back and the guys there were very nice and knew their stuff. I suggest you stop by there and talk to them.

IF YOU MUST try an additive, (FYI additives plus old dirty fluid is a waste) then Lucas Stop-Slip is what I would use. Try to warm the bottle up some before you put it in, as it is thick as mollasses.

lucas, hands down. i've seen that stuff work miracles. like optmus said, you may want to have it checked out first by someone competent though. could just be the bands need adjusting or something.

lucas is the shiznit, but mix it with some fluid first, or it will never run down the tube

Jeep automatic transmissions suck, that's a fact of life. The manuals are supposidly pretty good, although there's not much to fuck up in a manual transmission.

I've got a ZJ, and it slips pretty bad between 2nd and 3ed if I'm accelerating hard.

^the aw4 is a damn good auto. it wasn't ever offered in gc's though. ax-5 is a horrible manual. ax-15 is better. nv3550 is pretty good.

has anybody tried putting a 727 or even a 904 in a newer Jeep? I've never messed with them before so I don't know much about them but we had a 727 in an old Plymouth 1 ton van that was as tough as you could want. My old AMC has a 727 in it, too and it has been a very good transmission.
