Hey, I'm embarassed that this problem is stumping me but:
A long metal cylinder with radius A is supported on an insulating stand on the axis of a long hollow metal tube with radius B. The positive charge per unit length on the inner cylinder is H, and there is an equal negative charge per unit length on the outer cylinder. Calculate the potential V(r) for 1) r<A 2) a<r<b 3) r>b
I was looking over some old electrostatics stuff and it's driving me nuts that I can't get this simple problem. I know the potential in the center and outside both is 0, but I forget how to do the inbetween. 3/22/2006 6:57:10 PM |
