I am debating whether to take a few summer courses this summer at a community college back at home (central piedmont community college (CPCC)) For my first session i am thinking about taking the equivalent to ma 241 and py 205 then for my second summer session i was thinking about taking the equivalent courses to ma 242 and py 208
Any personal experience with cpcc courses or opinions on this would be helpful. I am also thinking if it is too much work then i could simply take ma 241 fist summer session and py 205 second summer session or something along those lines. 3/22/2006 7:47:28 PM |

CPCC is a very strong community college. Do not expect the classes to be easy. They may be in the sense you are taking less subjects and they are offered every day. I am a bit worried about the amount of work given that one of the courses is a lab course each semester. See how long you would be in the labs and how long. If you have (guessing) 90 minutes of class for each class - that's 3 hours a day. If you add a lab twice a week for 2 hours each that means that on two of the days you would be in class for 5 hours. You then get out school, breathe, eat and do whatever, but then have to get the homework done for the next day's class. Just see how long and how frequently they meet and see if you think you can handle it. 3/22/2006 8:20:03 PM |

I was checking out the class times for the spring 2006 semester, simply because they dont have their summer courses up yet but for the PY 205 course it meets one day a week from 6-9 and the lab is one day a week from 6-9. The MA 241 course meets 5 days a week (lab included) for 1hr 15mins a day. 3/22/2006 11:01:11 PM |

Summer is usually when I take my humanities, as they tend to get in the way during the Fall/Spring semester with all the technical classes I'm taking 3/23/2006 8:15:07 AM |
