Upgraded my MOBO, CPU, and RAM just over a year ago....... here's my current setup:

Athlon 64 3500+
1 GB Corsair XMS Select RAM
ATI Radeon 9800XT

As you can see, my bottle neck is the vid card. I'm looking at the new Geforce 7800GS...

I plan on reupping my entire system in two years or so, so I think this isn't as stupid as some make it out to be.

What do you guys think?

wow, it was a half joke, but I do need the card pretty bad. I have no idea what a reasonable price is though.
