So this PROVES the connection between Saddam and Al Qaeda which TOTALLY justifies us going to war with Iraq!

Oh I got it, I just found the saddam hussien airport thing more interesting.

It's kind of tough for us to call out russia on false intellegence when roughly 80% of our prewar intellegence turned out to be completely made up.

first of all, i wouldn't say that our intel was "completely made up"...intel is generally a best guess, and we did a pretty piss-poor job of making those guesses.

what i'm getting at is that it sounds like we intentionally leaked disinformation to the enemy.

i would say russian generals training iraqi troops before the invasion, and the possible use of russian ships to cary wmd type materials out to sea are bigger issues than this

it shouldnt be surprising that there is still a lot of animosity at upper levels of both our governments, russian and us. we know they are spying on us, and they know we are spying on them. my guess is that they intercepted communications where we gave fake information knowing they were listening.

we couldnt let them in on our plans because of their economic ties to iraq, which probably pissed them off so they wanted to know what we were up to
