Sup Everyone. Does anyone know how to setup a BEFSR41 so that I can be able to send files to people on aim and get the same speeds I get when plugged directly into the wall(I live on campus btw and the people im sending stuff to,do too). Ive tried port forwarding(though i could be forwarding the wrong ports),disabling my firewall, enabling dmz and some other stuff but nothing seems to work. Does anybody have any suggestions? Thanks

Turn off the DHCP server and use ResNet's.
Also, you won't get the same local speeds if you are wireless.

It could also be a Resnet issue. File-sharing traffic is apparently so high at times that download speeds can drop doing direct transfers. I had the same issue sending a project to a friend a few weeks ago. But over Spring Break when everyone else was gone -- no problem at all, plenty of speed.

If my experience over here at Watauga is reliable, the best time to send files over AIM is between 2am and 5am

hmm, after I turned off the dhcp server, I couldnt even send files , even with a resnet IP. I can change some settings in aim but that makes it go slow again. I give up

use a real file transfer spec like ftp or scp and I bet you'll get a bit better throughput.
