Quote : | "At their meeting [in January 2003], Mr. Bush and Mr. Blair candidly expressed their doubts that chemical, biological or nuclear weapons would be found in Iraq in the coming weeks, the memo said. The president spoke as if an invasion was unavoidable. The two leaders discussed a timetable for the war, details of the military campaign and plans for the aftermath of the war." |
our lovable President is full of all sorts of zany ideas!
Quote : | " Without much elaboration, the memo also says the president raised three possible ways of provoking a confrontation. Since they were first reported last month, neither the White House nor the British government has discussed them.
"The U.S. was thinking of flying U2 reconnaissance aircraft with fighter cover over Iraq, painted in U.N. colours," the memo says, attributing the idea to Mr. Bush. "If Saddam fired on them, he would be in breach." " |

Come on, I spend my day thinking up even zanier ideas, doesn't mean he would have ever actually implimented them.
That said, Bush is the worst President in U.S. history, just barely egging out Johnson. 3/27/2006 10:35:38 AM |

i mean, if you're in a meeting and he says something like that, how do you respond? Say Colin Powell is in that meeting, and Bush says something like "let's take one of our U2 spy planes, paint it white and baby-blue and send it over Baghdad. If all goes well, they'll fire a couple missiles at us. If they actually hit the plane and kill our pilot, we could attack tomorrow! otherwise, we might have to wait a week or two." What is he supposed to say to that? Do you coddle an humor the President like you would a 4 year old who thinks the way to solve his parent's divorce is for them to hug? "Yes, Georgie - that's a wonderful idea. Now, you go draw some pictures how you think the plane should look and let us take care of the rest of the war planning."
Fuck, i just can't imagine sitting around in a meeting and the fucking President saying something so ridiculous! Powell or someone with reason should have stood up and bitch-slapped him - "Are you stupid!? Are you out of your fucking mind!!??" But unfortunately it was probably just Cheaney and Rumsfeld sitting their twiddling their thumbs and thinking "exxxcelllent..... we can make this man do anything!" while they send Powell out on a super secret mission to generate a fake analysis of some satellite imagery. All the while Blair is probably sitting there - "jolly good! let us know where we can help, pip pip!" 3/27/2006 10:45:38 AM |

Quote : | "In the early 1960s, America's top military leaders reportedly drafted plans to kill innocent people and commit acts of terrorism in U.S. cities to create public support for a war against Cuba.
Code named Operation Northwoods, the plans reportedly included the possible assassination of Cuban émigrés, sinking boats of Cuban refugees on the high seas, hijacking planes, blowing up a U.S. ship, and even orchestrating violent terrorism in U.S. cities. " |

This blows my mind.
I wrote it off as non-credible when I first heard about it, but it seems like it's being substantiated now. 3/27/2006 8:04:11 PM |
