"Team to appreciate all over again: N.C. State (1974). If you do nothing else as a result of participating in this poll, review your David Thompson clips and footage. There was a time, before the blow, when he left you gasping for air and grasping for words to describe him. Revisit that time, if only in your imagination.

UNC 82 was clearly the best team of all time

That's why it took an errant pass to the wrong team to win it.

Hang a banner from the rafters, put it on t-shirts, and brag about it for the next 60 years. UNC gets appointed their second championship.... The first in 1924, and now this one....

Hey, we should just get in the business of churning out brainwashed numbskulls that will vote for our school no matter what.... IDIOTS!

the '82 team as the best ever is pretty lame. i'm not even sure i'd call that the best unc team ever, as '84 and '94 were both stacked. any of wooden's teams and the '74 state team, as well as the '90 unlv team should get consideration

yeah, but it was voted on my the masses.... You gotta remember that the majority of people are just going to assume since MJ was on the team, they should vote for it. MJ wasn't even that good in college....

FINAL FOUR
San Francisco (1956) vs. N.C. State (1974) and UCLA (1972) vs. UCLA (1968).

^^Exactly. That is why it made no sense for the ACC to name Jordan as the best ACC player of the first 50 years. The problem is that for the last two decades Dick Vitale and his buddies at ESPN have been kissing lots of Duke and UNC ass to the point that if those two schools aren't consistenly competiting for the ACC title, the entire ACC is garbage in their eyes. As a result, the majority of the ESPN audience has been programmed to have a two-sided view of the ACC.
