not so sure how big of an upset the state-ucla game was. We only lost one game that year and I think we went undefeated in 75 didnt we??????????

And we had one of the greatest college players of all time..........

ha, i'm reading the 1974 championship edition of sports illustrated (the "End of an Era" one) and in the article it says:

"The game really got out of Marquette's reach five minutes into the second half when state built a 19-point lead. From then on State Coach Norman Sloan turned a rout into something of a sick joke by ordering the most exlposive college basketball teams in many years into his beloved "tease delay". This is a tactic long favored by the Carolina coaching fraternity, although to an outsider its only recommendation is the tendancy to turn a one-sided game back into a contest. Sloan almost succeeded in accomplishing that as Marquette cut the deficit to nine points with 10 minutes remaining."

sound familiar???

carolina queerholes got us suspended for the fucking tournament...we would've won back to back titles in 73 and 74

yet roy williams gives his players at kansas graduation gifts and gets in trouble, but does he get post season suspensions? fuck no

god dammit i hate carolina

also in that article:

"Of the many local screamers, in fact, many had to be Tar Heel supporters, among whom feelings were divided. "I've never rooted for UCLA," said one of these nice people, "but I hope State gets beat by a thousand"

just a little insight for those who think that carolina-duke is the greatest rivalry of all time.
