never put windows anything in charge ofsecurity. symantec corporate is the best out there.

i don't know about the anti-virus stuff

but windows defender is the best antispyware program hands down

And if you have Symantec Corp. Edition you should probably just keep it. I am partial to Network Associates (McAfee) but they both have their strong points.

trusting the people who wrote the operating system to get rid of spyware infecting the operating system sounds like a good idea

i use the defender since it's free, but i've got antivirus from school. why pay for it.
