frustrating process. Interviewed for the dream tech job. and the interview went well they claim they are "very interested", but the hiring/offer letter process requires signatures from higher ups.
i spoke with the HR rep and she explained the main signature that's needed is from an exec thats out of town and he won't be able to sign till April 17th.
should I still look . . . ? or just be patient at my current suck ass job (which is pure HELL !!!) 4/4/2006 4:11:52 PM |

gee why does this not surprise me that this sounds exactly like one of your other threads... you need to keep your stories straight so you dont use the same one over again 4/4/2006 4:33:44 PM |

The same thing happened to one of my friends. She thought the interview went really well, then didn't hear from them for over a week. She finally called before they said they were supposed to call, and the lady said that she had gotten the job. However, I don't think they would use the excuse that they did unless it was true. They wouldn't make a big mistake by lying and saying that they have to get someone to sign it because it leads you on. But, if they didn't say anything about you meeting anyone else or getting that paper signed then I would worry a little. I know that probably doesn't help... but good luck!! 4/4/2006 4:44:53 PM |

Don't stop looking, but don't be pessimistic either. It took me 5 weeks to get a formal offer from the place I'm accepting a job with. The department head told me in the interview that all he had to do is get the position approved, but he was going out of town. After he got back 3 weeks later, it still took almost 2 weeks. If you get another offer between now and then, then call the company back and press for a more clear answer, but in the mean time keep searching and call them back after the 17th. And stop making so many damn threads about the same topic. 4/4/2006 6:11:01 PM |

^^ thanks NCSU driver. i need to get back on the job search and continue following up with my other leads just in case this one falls through. sorry about the multiple threads, but my current job IS THE WORST COMPANY / JOB / BOSS KNOWN TO MAN. i never thought my job could suck like this.
i interviewed with another company the same day and they showed some interest too. they want me to come in for a 2nd interview. i e-mailed the HR of that company this today:
Quote : | "Hello,
I'm working on coordinating time for the second interview. I'm hoping to confirm a date for either Thursday or Friday afternoon. Thank you for your hospitality during my visit last Friday and for all your efforts to arrange my visit. I will be in touch with a date shortly. If you do have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
Best, " |
the HR chick responded:
Quote : | "Please let me know ASAP; we are eager to fill this position and I think you have a great chance however time is of the essence.
Regards, " |
