He's not the BEST first baseman yet, but you must admit, he's pretty damn close to locking that up as well.

that was by far the best hit I've ever seen. Considering the situation and how hard he hit that ball, you'd be hard pressed to find one that is better unless it won a world series. I know we didnt end up winning the nlcs, but that hit was heroic.

If he does stay healthy, he will end up with possibly 800 homeruns, 2000 RBIs and a career average over .300 with probably near 3000 hits.

Damn I hope he stays healthy. Cards will be good for next 10 years with him alone.

Pujols is squeeky clean though, plus, he was almost as big at 21 as he is right now. He's always been fairly slow, and NEVER skinny.

I've had the same thought myself, but I cant bring myself to believe it. I think he's clean, and as a cardinals fan, I think McGuire is a tool....so take it for what its worth.

you KNOW some teams are kicking themselves right now. Hell, the cardinals probably drafted someone ahead of him that isnt in the league anymore. That whole situation is funny to think about.

I dont think the Cards would let him get away either. He's an icon in St. Louis...probably getting up there with Ozzie Smith. That might take a few more years though.

do they even test for Human growth hormone, or any new designer shit on the cutting edge? didnt think so, just cause you dont test positive doesnt mean you arent on something, pujols is decent, and i dont really give a shit about pros using steriods, just thought i would point that out.

Pujols asks bonds when is the last time he stole a base, ran on a hit and run, made a good base running decision, and hit for average, not the fences?

And, when's the last time Pujols had a pinch runner? I dont remember it. I'm pretty sure bonds gets one almost every game.

You don't need to steal a base when you get to walk around them. (not to mention that Bonds does still steal occasionally and is successful when he does). You have to have teammates who can hit to carry out a hit and run. Considering Bonds is 16 years older I think we can excuse him using a pinch runner. Bonds has averaged .362, .341, and .370 his last three seasons compared to .330, .331, .359 for Pujols, so don't bring up average. Bonds had an OPS of 1.421 1.278 1.381 compared to Pujols' 1.039, 1.072, 1.106. Bonds was walked more his last 2 season than Pujols' entire 5 season career. Bonds has more homeruns and about the same number of RBI's in 65% as many at bats. Oh yeah, Bonds is doing all of this at 40+.

Bonds is the one who has set the standard for offensive production. Pujols is good but he has not out performed an over-the-hill Bonds.
