Here's some info for you: The Wagner gun absolutely SUCKS at this.

I used to use one frequently, and I gotta say, they're the biggest pieces of shit for this kind of application. I think you CAN get different tip sizes, but atomization is done by piston pump action at 60 Hz (AC line current). If you move the gun back and forth fast enough, you can actually see the waves it produces in the finish. And believe me, it doesn't have to be that fast.

I honestly don't know how you'd get a halfway decent finish outta one of these things. Atomization just ain't that great.

why do you need a tank? why not just go straight out of a 5 gallon bucket?

its really easy to strain a 5 gallon bucket if it starts to get old

theres so much money in interior house painting, that shit is easy
i wish my insurance covered it so i didnt have to just do outside stuff

but the real goldmine was pressure washing, especially after you purchase a 30 ft extension pole and barely even need a ladder

Ahhh...yer talkin' about a piston pump type sprayer.

If you can get a tip small enough, then I suppose you could paint a car with it, though I don't know why you'd want to unless you used plain old industrial enamel. Car paint ain't cheap enough to waste all that paint in a 25 foot hose.

There are no lines with this type. I thought you meant a handheld gun (hunk of shit).

Go to Harbor Freight and get a $25 dollar HVLP.

^Bingo. Excellent idea.

They work just fine for occasional jobs. I've owned four cheap guns (two big, two jamb) and they've all done really well.

For production work...then I'd want a $400 gun.

Maybe I should clarify...relatively cheap guns. I've had two big guns that cost around 60 dolla each.
