stitzinger... i took him summer session, but he does lots of examples and he gives you a review sheet before every test, and your test is exactly like the review sheet, just different numbers 4/7/2006 1:32:12 PM |

Stitzinger won't be teaching 242 this fall; about half of the sections have no instructor listed, which means they will be taught be grad students. 4/7/2006 3:22:31 PM |

Hoon Hong's an awesome professor, but he doesn't use the book at all.
I had Alina Chertok(sp) for 242, and while I wouldn't call her a good teacher, she did teach from the book--same examples and everything. 4/7/2006 3:32:25 PM |

Lung Chung teaches straight out the book. All he does in class are problems from the book. If you haven't had physics yet, prepare to teach yourself some of the material, because he can be confusing. His grading and tests are pretty awesome. Each test only 5 problems. He tells you the format of each problem the day before the test, and you get a "cheat sheet"... a piece of paper front and back with whatever you want to write on it. No webassign or required homework... pretty slack attendance policy, especially if you have a lazy TA. 4/7/2006 4:08:26 PM |

Drew Pastuer is a great teacher. I have him now. He uses a good amount of examples and is always willing to help. Highly recommended. 4/7/2006 4:12:52 PM |

I had Lyerly for 242 and thought he was pretty good. He's not a full-time prof though (actually taught calc at one of the high schools in the area...) 4/8/2006 9:30:17 PM |
