they said on sc this morning that he will make a decision and let them know before the first minicamp (which is in may)

they argued that he's not being completely inconvenient since the packers drafted a qb last year (i think) and they have him ready to go if favre does not return.

Favre has told the Packers on numerous occasiosn that he would commit to them if they committed to top notch players in free agency, they havent done what it takes to win, i would be reluctant in coming back to

am I missing something here, or did nobody here him when he said "what are they gonna do, cut me?"

what a fucking prick. of course they're not gonna cut you, you're brett favre. nobody has the balls to do that. but it's pretty fucked up that he's taking is sweet time to make a decision when they have a rookie QB that they could be grooming as the #1 guy. right now they have no idea who's going to be their #1 guy next year.

I never thought I'd see the day that brett favre would be acting like TO

As far as the TO comparison, mrlebowski you are a bad judge of character.

lets see

TO, maybe one of the top 5 receivers in the league, has spent his entire career talking shit about his teammates and coaches, picking fights with teammates and coaches, and generally being a cancer to whatever team he is playing for

favre, easily one of the top 3 quarterbacks of all time, isn't sure if his team wants to win

same thing

"what are they gonna do? cut me?"

that would be arrogant. A QB can be cocky and humble in the media. Tom Brady is arrogant, Peyton Manning isnt arrogant. they are good QBs

i dont have any golden boys, just admit that favre is a real person, and like any real person is a jerk some of the time. The quote was in the context of dont you think its wrong for you to not make a decision about playing next year

Brett Favre is an asshole.

He threw Javon Walker under the bus last year and now he's pulling this shit.

Fuck him.

I hope he comes back so he can embarrass himself one last season before he's forced out of the league.

I seriously couldn't care about Favre and the packers. I think that's probably what most people outside of Greenbay will tell you.

everyone that is talking shit about one of the best quaterback in the history of the NFL is just showing how ignorant they are, of course you think he is arrogant and what not when you pick and choose what details you include and which ones you dont include. Favre is the best thing that has ever happened to the Packers and he derserves respect from them, fuck a deadline if it was so important they would stick to it but the Packers know they need Favre!!

"I want to do what's best, obviously, for me and my family," he said. "But regardless of what people might think, I don't want to jeopardize the future of the team. I don't want to do that. I think that the people that know me, including those in the organization, know that."

What Favre said about announcing his decision tomorrow morning...

The "What are they going to do? Cut me?" quote is taken completely out of context. He said it jokingly and anyone with half a brain knows that.

It's dumb to say that Favre's indecision is going to somehow prevent them from grooming Rodgers to be the #1 quarterback on the team. Favre has said that if he does come back this will definitely be his last year, so unless everyone in the Green Bay coaching staff is a moron, they're wasting no time grooming Rodgers.

He's been doing this "will I retire, won't I retire?" thing for years now and up until last year the Packers were just fine. They have, and are grooming, their QB of the future regardless of whether Favre will be starting this year.

Also, considering the state of complete disrepair our offensive line is in, I can't blame an older quarterback at all for waiting to see what moves Thompson makes before signing on to become next year's David Carr.

If Favre doesn't announce his retirement, it just means that Javon Walker is going to retire before him.

I don't really think favre is as bad as TO. that was a bad comparison. TO is probably the worst teammate EVER. but favre definitely is acting immature about the whole situation and thinks he's bigger than the team. They're being patient with him and he's totally being a cocky prick about it. I've always liked the guy, but he's definitely acting like a big baby.
