Really strong chance I might be moving there after graduation. Has anyone ever been to Sarasota or any city relatively close? And if so what's it like? Are the old people rumors true?? Any help would be great- 4/8/2006 12:17:29 PM |

There are lots of old people but there are younger people there too, the more expensive/new part of town you are in, the more old people. That's kind of what I gathered. 4/8/2006 12:47:38 PM |

I've been there many times. Both of my mother's brothers live there and so do my grandparents. I think the city is great. It is a pretty rich area.....last time I was there I really noticed that everyone drives nice cars. There doesn't seem to be like lots of old people. 4/8/2006 1:25:09 PM |

Sarasota is sweet. There are old people, but since I'm like a 60 year old trapped in a 24 year old body, I didn't mind. But it's fun, there is a lot of cultural stuff to do, so i really like that. And there are some really cool keys there, Ledo for example, that are really nice. Also I think you can still get a pretty cool house for relatively cheap (comapared to Miami for example.)
The weather, of course, is great! I love the vegetation too, i love palm trees!
Have fun! 4/9/2006 2:55:35 PM |

its just south of Tampa. everyone i knew from Sarasota when i lived in Tampa was always trying to get out and go to Tampa, if that says anything.
The old people thing is hype. St. Pete is supposed to be big for old people and its an awesome town. 4/9/2006 5:07:45 PM |
