amnesty means it wouldnt be illegal. as in they would not be deported. does not mean they could vote. LEGAL immigrants cant vote until they become citizens last time i checked.

reagan actually argued against having a big debt, but i think he was determined to have a totally wicked military (whether he was right or not--i.e., did he cause or hasten the demise of the USSR--is up for debate), and couldn't get the other cuts he wanted due to Congress.

i can go search for the ny times article, but i dont feel like it.
it was from about a week ago, said that the tax cuts on dividends(sp?) from 2003 really were for the rich. 40% of the savings went to the top .1% of the country and top 2% of the population got 70% of the savings.

feel free to argue that that was a good thing (you are wrong) but dont argue against the fact that the rich got the best deal.
