^yea besides he cant cover, and he is short, and if a ball is thrown his way he gets burnt; other than that, he is awesome.

He has those 2 playoff games in 04 as his claim to fame, other than that he has been a major disappointment.

Please, Panthers, do not match. At this point I'd take a seventh rounder for Ricky. Dude just fucking blows. It seems like everytime we gave up a big play on defense, it was a result of Ricky Manning being out of position, getting beat, or getting his body turned the wrong direction.

Yeah, I am not much of a Fan of Manning - he seems to be a major part of most big plays that happen against the Panthers Defense...but I was hoping he would get better for the price we were paying him/and him being a starter...to lose him for nothing in return can be a slight bummer...but I def think we can replace him pretty easy and fast

He'd be a good fit at Nickel Back in Chicago. I'd love to have him on the team. And since he's a defender, it will sting much much less when this aquisition from the Panthers lets the ball bounce off of his hands.

that won't be a terrible loss, but who will play nickle? he is a decent nickle back, covering a slot/possession receiver. the problem is, possession receivers are usually over 6 ft and manning is short as hell. I think overall, he makes up for his lack of size well.

manning for a 3rd round pick is not bad, but i would be happy either way.
