"INDIANAPOLIS -- Men's basketball teams at Arizona State and Texas A&M and football teams at Arizona, San Jose State, San Diego State and Northern Arizona could face the loss of scholarships next fall because of poor academic results.

On Thursday, the NCAA announced the Academic Progress Rates for eight schools that either didn't report results in time for the original announcement March 1 or had appeals pending with the NCAA that did not allow results to be processed in time.

Teams would lose scholarships for one year only if their APR scores fall below a certain threshold and then have an academically ineligible athlete leave school. No team can lose more than 10 percent of its total scholarship money."

yeah that makes me hope we aren't trying to go after Gillispie a little. However, he has only been the head coach at A&M for three years so I don't think it is enough to place the academic problems totally on his shoulders right now.

There's no indication of dumb players at this point, only a subpar administration that doesn't have their shit together.

I'm not sure these academic problems would be for Gillespie.

Aren't these numbers usually 3-4 years behind? (Not trying to spin it, but I thought I remember Chuck's 4th year they released these numbers and were actually from the Mike O' Cain days.)

Also, Gillispie recruited a lot of JUCO's at A&M, so I'm not sure how/if that would throw them off (if they were his numbers in the first place...)
