trying to shade an image red/black but still keep the actual image. haha i want to make a mosaic nc state poster. can anyone tell me how to do this in photoshop

shade as in select parts and color them? then magic wand

or shade as in just change the overall color of everything (i.e. give it a red tint)? then either make an opaque layer on top filled with the red color and change the blending mode to overlay, or use the hue/saturation option in the image menu

All layers are opaque by default.

did what u said shadow: but no red tint

fill that layer with red or whatever color
then go to where it says "Normal" on that layer list and change it to "Overlay"
then go to where it says "Opacity" on that layer list and turn it down

it also might look better if you desaturate the football layer
