The internet at work filters personal emails. I remember talking to someone about using a e-tunnel, or v-tunnel (something like that). How would I set that up? Thanks! 4/17/2006 9:52:19 AM |

Scroll down to where it starts talking about CGI proxies and find one that works.
Oh yeah, I'm not responsible if you got fired for this.

There's a reason they have filters at work environments. Not saying I agree with them ... but they are in place for a reason. Also, read the "computer/network/etc." usage policy you signed for job. Most likely, your employer has a right to monitor your emails/connections at any time. Assume you have NO privacy at your work environment.
Look up Remote Desktop for Windows. You'll have an encrypted connection and nothing will be cached on your work machine.

if all our IT departments were smart, they'd black flag brentroad.com and thewolfweb.com and 209.170.159.18
that way we would *ALL* get alot more work done 4/21/2006 12:07:42 AM |

just vnc into your home computer and use it. nobody will have any idea what you're doing on your home pc unless they physically see it on your screen.

vnc is terrible. use remote desktop. 4/21/2006 10:07:21 AM |

i guess it's a matter of taste. with remote desktop, you have to log out the current session on the host machine. with vnc, you just hop on into whatever is going on. 4/21/2006 11:32:24 AM |

actually thats not true.
you can log right into the console session and pick up right where you left off 4/21/2006 11:36:50 AM |
