I think I have some kind of ad-ware trojan crap on my computer because the homepage for IE keeps going to http://www.safetydefender.com. When I change the homepage to say http://www.msn.com, it just goes right back to the safetydefender.com website.

Does anyone know how to remove this annoyance?

check your hosts file. also, do u have ad-aware? go to download.com to get it.

Yea I ran the trio (adaware, spybot, ccleaner) on this one still couldnt get it off a friends computer to no avail...but was too lazy to figure out what it was at that point.
Anyone have any suggestions

So what you're saying is that they're being detected but are not being removed? Have you tried in safe mode and disabling sytem restore?

disable system restore? you mean just restore to a certain date before I had it?

aw fuck it, i just did system restore to a day prior to fix it

make sure that you change your home page through the contor panel->Internet options
then windows defender should block any changes to the home page
