i agree with this thread

but pujols won the MVP for a reason last year

however, i think if andruw were batting in a stacked lineup he would be untouchable

watch out hank

Money would be on Arod to break the all-time record but he says he doesn't plan on sticking around that long.

according to bill james' favorite toy arod has the best chance to do it and will likely pass 800 HR

he says pujols could also pass 800 but he's probably a few years older than what he's listed at

andruw is a lock for 500 and has a reasonable chance of passing hank

i don't have the numbers on me, but take my word for it

If Griffey hadn't had injury problems he'd be shooting for around 10,000 homers when he retired.

Andruw has more HRs than Hank did at the same age. If Jones continues his 50+ homerun seasons (and there's no reason to think this season won't be one of those), then braves players very likely could be the #1 and #2 slot of the holy grail of sports records.

If Jones' BA was a little higher last year, the MVP was easily his. He's a little more consistent this year with around a .300 average.

But yes, Pujols deserved the MVP last year. Jones' average w/ RISP was horrible last year... batting somewhere in the low .200s. That's what did it. I don't think the .266 average sunk him, I think it was the RISP average that did him in.

But this year is a different story. Jones opens up when the other jones is on the DL.

Just because Beltran sucks balls doesn't mean you gotta come in here and ruin our party

New York Mets, where careers come to die... at least for Beltran.

No. Rooting for a shitty team does though..

V A-Rod is the best baseball player of our generation. The guy has it all. Pujols needs to AVERAGE 52 HRs a year to be on the same pace through 30 years old.. I bet it doesn't happen.. (he started a few years later though...). Too bad is a filthy Yankee

Andruw Jones will not touch Hank Aaron.

Pujols and A-Rod will both approach Bonds/Ruth/Aaron numbers, but Pujols probably has a better chance because he is younger and plays in a better hitters park. A-Rod, meanwhile, plays in Yankee stadium, which might not affect him so much now, but as he gets older, it will (and the new Yankee stadium in 2009 will have the same dimensions).

But there is no guarantee anyone will stay healthy. Everyone thought for sure Junior would break the record, but look at him now. A lot can happen in 10-12 years between now and the time any of these guys would be approaching the record.

Bonds also will not break Aarons record either. Without the juice to help him recover, his knees are not healing right and he has no power.

actually, Davies isnt even our 2nd pitcher....hes the last guy in the rotation(see Huddy starting today)......so that would make him like...our 5th pitcher behind: Hudson, Smoltz, Thompson and Sosa. Although after last night, i would move him ahead of Sosa.

oh there's no doubt there would be more talk about jones if it werent for the fact that he can't hit for average. He's only 28 and has all the tools, except for the ability to hit for average

With the exception of last year, the starting pitching has struggled in April in the last couple of years. Just wait a little while, and everything will turn around. With the exception of Sosa, I think things are already starting to improve.

I love the fact he's nonchalant about his routine catches. He's a fantastic fielder. He opened his batting stance up last year. He's gotten used to it. I bet you he'll be hitting at or around .300 this year.

if i were a pitcher

or a fan of some shitty 3rd place team

say, the mets

i would hate andruw jones

best centerfield of our generation

in his prime

and he's always smiling when he's at the plate

and not that i really want to start this shit up again

but i love it when mets/phillies/whothefuckever fans bring up the fact that the braves have only one world series in the streak

because that's one more than your crappy team has

ahahahaha, good job Ernie.

NYM410, you of all baseball fans should know that we're 12 FUCKING GAMES INTO THE SEASON. But I don't blame you for trolling. THis will be your only chance. When game 162 comes, you'll be looking up... like you have for the past 14 years.
