for some reason their only album I like is pablo honey, which I guess makes me weird considering hardcore radiohead fans are like "omg pablo honey is their worst mothafuggin album."

I guess I'll try to listen to the other albums some more, i dunno.

i have a friend who's the same way. it's not weird if you think about it. radiohead fans love everything but pablo, you like pablo but hate the rest. pablo is very garage rock with thom singing like an arrogant punk. none of the other albums are like that.

what really turned me on to that album is when i got a DVD from a show from that tour right before the bends came out. the set was all pablo and bends stuff and they rocked the fuck out. ed was all over the fucking place, thom was pissed and told the audience to fuck off, johnny was having seizures. now when they play live, besides the SNL performances which are amazing, it's very boring. during pablo they had to play their hearts out because they were trying to make a name for themselves. now they know they can release something totally off-the-wall like kid a and still make #1 on the charts.

i'd say i'm pretty hardcore, and i like pablo and their newer stuff. it just felt like they slacked off for a couple albums there toward the end.

have you seen them live?

also: kid a and ok computer are their best albums. i would venture to say that ok computer is almost as "off the wall" as kid a is. they just use guitar in ok computer to be weird.

^you're off your rocker.

ok computer and kid a seem completely different to me. save for a couple songs, it seemed like they slacked off lyricly and musically. some of the songs don't even have that much "music" in them, they are just a couple chords, some synthesizer, and maybe a drum machine or something.

ok computer was amazing... kid a was them still cutting their teeth on their new sound.
