i've uninstalled norton systemworks 2006 and norton internet security 2006 and i'm trying to re-install them, however somewhere on my computer they saved some files, cuz it doesn't ask me for the key again when i re-install and it doesn't change my subscription status. i guess it saved some stuff in the registry since there is no folder in the program files, and i also manually searched the registry for norton, and i deleted everything i could find. and i also used program called registry mechanic to try and clean up the registry, but it didn't help a bit. does anyone know how to solve this problem, so i can re-install it clean, with a new cd-key and/or any better registry cleaners?

well, the whole reason i'm doing this, is to use a different key. if i uninstall NIS and live update, and re-install, it doesn't ask me for the key again.

Try Belarc advisor, it'll pull the key for the program out of the registry and list it with your other keys (office, games, windows)

I think it also tells you the locations.

went through the registry again, and searched for a long ass time for anything that has that key in in. but in any case, i re-installed, and it did ask me for a new key, but after the installation it would say that that key is already registered (with all internet connections shut down) so it still saves some shit somewhere on the computer and i just gave up and started using NV firewall, and the the one in my router.
