I've been listening to their album, Everything All The Time, alot recently and have thoroughly enjoyed it (well, some parts more than others).

Opinions?

They're all right.

Stupid amount of hype, though. Bands are getting called "the new Arcade Fire" left and right all the goddamn time. It's like every dust jacket that says the book's a modern-day Catcher in the Rye.

nothing groundbreaking of course

but a couple songs really caught my ear at first, and I came to enjoy most of the rest a little later

haven't heard the hype though

i got this album expecting to be WOWed but heavily disappointed. The only connection with Arcade Fire was there best song being titled "The Funeral."

if you want an awesome hyped band for now go with Birdmonster or ¡Forward, Russia! (uploading.com/?get=2Z15FVV6)

i never heard them compared to arcade fire

i read a cross between the shins and my morning jacket, 2 bands i dont really care about, and that seemed a pretty decent comparison

they sound nothing like the arcade fire, and they clearly arent trying to

Yeah, it's not that they're like the arcade fire.

It's that every douche with a music blog is calling them that.

I saw them open for Iron and Wine last summer at the Cradle. They put on a pretty good show, and Everything All the Time is a decent album--but it's definitely not anything revolutionary.

yeah, they remind me a lot of mmj, too. maybe it's all the reverb on the vocals... something about them reminds me of modest mouse, as well. i really like the album, but then, i didn't have any expectations when i popped it in.

i guess i saw them when they opened for iron + wine, but they must not have made an impression...

They're not that great, man.

Now, if they weren't so hyped, I wouldn't have been so disappointed the first time I heard them, but they just aren't that great. They're not bad, but they're nothing special.

I just now read this thread. Haha, wow there is some unnecessary bashing going on. This band is good for what they do. I'm starting to get tired of bashing music. It's so predicable. You guys are starting to get like Pitchfork up in here.

I don't know what you people are talking about. I think it's a great album. My only complaint is that it's too short.

No, we can recognize decent music and separate it from great music.

Everything All The Time is a bit above average, I've certainly listened to it plenty, but like I said, it's nothing revolutionary. I would say that they are worth seeing live, if I were in town last week I would have seen them at the Cradle.

Give them some more time and see what happens, they certainly aren't terrible.

So much for seeing where they take the band.

so what was the BTTT for? it's funny to go back and read all the hating on these guys.

i saw them again a year or 2 later, before Cease to Begin came out. great show, and it got a lot of press b/c it was the show where the singer kind of flipped out on some people in the audience.
