yeah, i read it as well and i don't see where he reports his GPA. on the application denial it is listed as a 2.5, but i think that is what is saying was falsified.
this letter provides an adequate response, in my opinion, of why he was denied. http://abuseofpoweratncstate.com/jackwheatley1.htm

I read the first 4-5 pages.
Clearly this guy is gay.
I can see why he was uncomfortable but theres no reason to be so gay about it.
Just lie, say you like having sex with girls, and go about your life.
Everyone wants to be a martyr until they become one.
Sometimes taking a stand for yourself means you don't get the result you wanted. You jsut gotta decide where your priorities lie.
But don't act like a fucking homo when it comes back to bite you.

If the BoG is really screwing things over, he should just go harass his elected officials.
And there's no fucking way I'd provide that whiny bitch credentials for that list of 20 faculty members he sent me. He can find out his damn self.

although i would like to know, i still have no clue what the issues that site is talking about are.
I saw one flyer talking about a cop and shit he did wrong, but when i started reading the first of the volumes of text on that site it was talking about a freshman course and being gay and stuff. I don't know what the connection, but there is sooo much text.
plz, someone, a summary. i really want to know, i just don't have 2 hours. 4/22/2006 2:10:05 PM |

summary: fag wont get over it and get on with his life. He could have spent the time doing this shit on more productive things -- such as getting a job and work experience.
If he were really serious, he'd get a lawyer.

i only read the first couple of pages thus far, and i agree with the author. the professor had no right to demand him to reveal his sexual identity and other details. it is inappropiate, as was her handling of it (according to the author's accounts). i don't see why he should drop the issue unless he is looking for an irrational conclusion. if he has evidence to suggest that his gpa was tampered with, and that he was denied admissions due to that fact, then he's right in his pursuit. if he's looking for monetary compensation, or something, then he's a dumbass. i haven't read through it all, so i don't know what he's looking for. someone save me the time, and tell me what does he want out of this.
either way, i'm glad he had the balls to speak up, and stand up to authority. it's shameful that so many of our peers would rather sit on their hands, and take the punches instead of speaking up. this is evident in several aspects of our society. we've grown to be an apathetic and reactive generation, as opposed to the innovating and proactive generations of the past.

He said it best. I read the whole thing (why I don't know) but it was a very interesting read.
The author of the website seems to define persistance and those who do not realize the importance of persistance are the same ones who accuse him of being hard headed yet they accept the abuse of power as something we should "deal with."
I think it comes down to the author having a valid point that needed investigation, but nobody in the university wanted to deal with it because it was all too convienient that he submitted his complaints after he didn't get into grad school.
I am suprize that he was not able to get a hold of some organizations (ACLU/gay&lesbian) 4/22/2006 5:46:37 PM |

the university is looking out for #1. It's not as noble of an institution as it should be in my oppinion. It sounds like the responses he's getting are exactly the kind of stuff i would expect from this situation. Are they good responses, probably not, but you know, university looks out for #1.
are there things you can do? yeah, lawyer and activist groups are among them. Is the university gona be very helpful when it's a matter that looks bad on them? Fuck no. 4/22/2006 5:55:05 PM |

I've had a first hand issue with bulltshit like this at NCSU. The entire School of Textiles disgusts me save a few people who bring a lot of good.
Long story short, Benham Pourdeyhimi is a lying sack of shit who got caught in his OWN lies in front of the dean and my advisor... and we're talking HUGE lies. He was "removed" from teaching and I was TOLD his associate professor status would be revoked. Dumbass me didn't get a lawyer involved.
My senior project involved a group of 5, I did all the work, the designs, the reports, and I had 45 emails (not exagerrating) that he had ignored the problem. In the end the athlete who showed up MAYBE 4 times the whole semester got an A, I got a B. I threw up my hands and the next semester I said fuck this and didn't continue the second semester and waited 2 more semesters before registering for the class (you have to take it) and was told that I was unfit to take the class and that I had to find other means by Benham Pourdeyhimi. I contacted my advisor and spoke with him about the matter and was refferred to the Associate Dean at the time (Trevor Little). I explained my problem and why I was at this stage and that I didn't want a fight I just wanted to graduate.
Trevor Little contacted Benham Pourdeyhimi about the issue and he claimed I was lazy, didn't do work and that I never said anything about an issue with my group. Unfortunately for Benham Pourdeyhimi I had printed out every single email between us about the issue and given copies to Trevor Little. A meeting was setup with my advisor and Benham Pourdeyhimi. My advisor (Gary Smith) contacted me on the phone and told me that Benham Pourdeyhimi had reacted loudly in many colorful metaphors at first until the emails were produced then he got real quiet.
Benham Pourdeyhimi violated half a dozen teacher guidelines and NCSU policies. I was told he was going to be booted in short... but if you look him up now you'll see he got a fucking promotion. BUT I graduated and it was beautiful to stare him down while I was recieving my diploma. Little smirk to his smug look.
In retrospect I should have gotten a lawyer to deal with the situation but at the time I just wanted to graduate and I successfully did so. I just hope people who read this know what to expect from that man. 4/24/2006 10:02:29 AM |

It seems like I hear shit like that about Professors all the time, and then a professor who's awesome gets put through a ton of shit to try and get tenure (with the University going against its own procedures the whole time), and then doesn't get tenure and moves to a different University. And the Administration wonders why we can't get/keep good professors, claiming money issues and trying (successfully) to raise our tuition. The whole system is corrupt.[/tangent] 4/24/2006 3:13:52 PM |

I had a professor like that in the College of Ed too.
Dr. Williams was/is a bitch. She did not like me and she made sure that she let everyone know it threw her comments towards me. I should have written a grievance against her, but I was afraid that it would affect my grade since I had to make a B in Student Teaching in order to graduate(and she was my supervising teacher) 4/24/2006 10:19:47 PM |
