One interesting one I hadnt heard yet... and the good old coaching rumors which continue to contradict themselves
Quote : | " Jai Lewis, George Mason's 6-foot-5, 290-pound senior center, has not played football since high school but has designs on the NFL. Representatives from the Giants, the Jets, the Steelers, the Dolphins, the Redskins, the Eagles and the Buccaneers are scheduled to attend Lewis's workout Thursday, according to his agent, Jeff Jankovich. -- New York Times" |
Quote : | "The next N.C. State target remained uncertain Wednesday night as the rumor mill churned at a breakneck pace. One source said a flight was arranged for AD Lee Fowler to meet with Dereck Whittenburg, who said he hadn't been contacted. Former UCLA coach Steve Lavin, an ESPN analyst, was said to have interest in the job. -- Charlotte Observer" |
I love how SI says he has interest and ESPN who he works for, says he is not4/21/2006 11:18:12 AM |

And some cool NBA rumors that if they happened would be awesome
Quote : | "The Bulls have enough players and assets to potentially swing a deal for Minnesota's Kevin Garnett this summer or possibly hold out for LeBron James next summer. -- New York Daily News" |
Quote : | "If a Grant Hill trade happens, Orlando's possibilities might include such unhappy stars as Minnesota's Kevin Garnett, Boston's Paul Pierce or Philadelphia's Allen Iverson. Their enormous contracts would match up with Hill's scheduled salary, making a trade feasible. -- Florida Today" |
Quote : | "The competition for Kevin Garnett figures to be stiff and costly, but for franchises as desperate for success as Golden State, it represents the price of doing business in the ultra-competitive NBA Western Conference. It's this simple for the Warriors: To get Garnett, Jason Richardson has to be the primary piece offered in a lavish package. Forget the Adonal Foyle/ Mike Dunleavy/first-round pick thought. -- Oakland Tribune" |

T-wolves would be dumb as fuck to go for that kind of deal. Kudos for Golden State for thinking about it though.
You usually have to give up a top 8-15 player plus something else to get a top-5 player.4/21/2006 11:24:11 AM |

Noel could probably play some professional sport... be that NBA,NFL, overseas basketball, Arena football, NFL europe whatever...
At the ACC senior challenge in Clayton a couple of weeks ago, i was sitting right on the court watching the game... Noel is a freak, he and Bennerman had some sick dunks where one would lay it up for the other
Oh and is that the Ed Nelson from GT/UCONN? 4/21/2006 11:27:29 AM |

except for when the Rockets swindled Tracy McGrady for nothing and nothing.
^ Yes, its Eazy Ed.
If tight end doesn't work out then Ed has the rap game on lock.

I don't know about the Rockets/Magic trade. The Rockets had to give up Francis and Mobley at the time (one was a top 15-20 player...and Cutino was pretty damn good himself). 4/21/2006 11:32:13 AM |

^^^ nah, they already had the #1 pick.
They coulda had Dwight Howard, Tmac, Jameer Nelson, and Darko right now and be one of the best teams in the East...
And Steve Francis sucks cock. Mobley is nothing more than a spare part. They let him go for nothing in free agency at the end of the season. There's a reason he bounces around the league a good bit.

being above .500 makes you automatically one of the best teams in the east
That said... Who would you like to see KG play for, ive hated him being in Minn since he was drafted, i just hate that whole organization 4/21/2006 12:04:56 PM |

I think Garnett would be pretty sick in Orlando with Howard at center. Garnett has never had a really good center to play with. 4/21/2006 12:09:50 PM |

That's your opinion on Francis...I personally think he's great. Points, rebounds, assists...he can give you a consistent 25, 8, 6 a night for a 6'1" guard...that's pretty damn good to me.
It's not his fault he's always been on shitty teams. And he did just as much with Yao than McGrady has done. 4/21/2006 12:11:39 PM |

I agree with Scottie Pippen in that KG is the MOST OVERRATED PLAYER IN THE NBA. Now with that said, I think he has some great potential and dispell that status with solid role players and another star. Mike had Scottie & co. Magic had Kareem and co. Bird had Parish & co. Not sure if it feasible but I think KG should get to LA with Kobe and Phil.
Now I hate Kobe, awesome player, but I hate him. I don't really like KG, but the man can Ball...with Phil coaching, Kobe & KG on court together with couple role players (mainly a spot up shooter and someone with hands)...I think there would be a now force for a few years...
Maybe get C. Webb for cheap now since he almost garbage...what a line up

Actually Francis was the reason a lot of those teams sucked.
A consistent 25, 8, 6?
Did you happen to see his numbers the last few seasons?
Francis sucks.
I dont think Orlando has anything that Minnesota would want.
Chicago is the team with all the young talent that they wont be able to re-sign in a few years.... They should move Luol Deng right now before teams sour on his 'potential'. He's not gonna be the type of player many believed him to be and Ive heard rumors that he's 2-3 years older than he claims... 4/21/2006 12:19:16 PM |

^ Why? They have better trade options than any other team in the league/
Lebron gets more money from his sponsors if he plays in NY, NJ, LA, or Chicago supposedly...
Cleveland panicked and tried to put talent around him immediately so he could taste the playoffs and not bolt at his first opportunity.
Guys like Illgauskas, Hughes, Damon Jones haven't meshed well with Lebrons game.
That being said, its his hometown team so I could see him staying...

KG not going to go any where that he has to rebuild. He going somewhere that is at least somewhat established at has players that can bring his game up...Chicago would have to get rid of all their talent to get him
Orlando...KG...nah, not going to happen

I'm not going to say he hasn't played his best ball with Orlando...but he was pretty damn good in Houston. And he's hated playing there...he hated the owner...and he cried like a bitch when Mobley was traded. He obviously wasn't in the best playing environment. I'm just saying he shouldn't be judged as a player by his last few years in Orlando. He is a three-time all-star. 4/21/2006 12:25:38 PM |
rallydurham Suspended 11317 Posts user info edit post |
nah Chicago would be loaded with Garnett.
They could give up their draft pick (its a top 4 pick), Deng, and someone like Sweetney.
Heinrich, Gordon, Nocioni, Garnett, Chandler
Thats a good team, not a rebuilding one. 4/21/2006 12:27:25 PM |

I can see LeBron possibly going to Chicago...I agree the team has not meshed with his style to well minus Illgascus (sp?) who looks like an all-star with him. But I think he wants to stay at home and build that team into a house-hold name like MJ did Chi-town.
Yeah sponsers would love for him to go to major "metro" area...but would have to be helluva deal for LeBron to pack up like that...

Ilgauskas was an all-star before Lebron got there. He's a very good center but Ilgauskas and Lebron dont fit very well together its better to surround Lebron with more athletes.
They tied up all their cap space re-signing Ilgauskas/Hughes so they are only gonna go as far as Lebron can take them...
I dont blame them, they couldnt afford to let Lebron slip away but this team isnt built to win championships in the near future. 4/21/2006 12:32:34 PM |
