My burner is acting up. I have two drives and tried doing straight disk copies onto DVD-R's, and at each time (4 times), it stops at about 98% complete telling me it cannot read the disk being copied, and ejects the disk in Drive E. It does this for a few times, and then finally on about the fourth different disk it works. I've tried straight disk copies and trying to save it to my hard drive for the 3 or 4 different ones that didn't work, no luck. Could my blank discs all just be scratched at the exact point? Thanks for all suggestions in advance!

Very unlikely but there could be a manufacturer defect on the discs.

It is most likely that the lens is dirty (spec of dust, etc) and is causing the problem. This often is the cause when you have a CD player that always skips on a certain track or at a certain point on all discs. Get an optical drive cleaning disc rather than trying to clean it yourself:

Usually the cleaning disc will take care of problems like this. They are specially designed CDs that have brushes mounted on the base and will align the laser assembly with the brushes as you follow the audio instructions on the CD.
