I am wanting to have an outside wedding (perferably in a garden) somewhere in/around Charlotte. I have found places but they are all waaaay too much. It will be a small wedding... somewhere around 100-125ish people people.
Total budget for the wedding is around $7k.
Ideas are appriciated! 4/24/2006 10:33:33 PM |

Went to a reception at the Women's Club in Charlotte and it was great... except the men's restroom was literally a fucking closet in the basebment under the stairs. 4/24/2006 11:27:14 PM |

all the nice places in charlotte are going to be expensive b/c its a high class city... try and head toward the outskirts of the city 4/27/2006 12:12:06 PM |

yeah, oasis temple sucks, the local greek community is big on it for receptions, stay away at pretty much any cost, it's depressing 4/27/2006 12:15:54 PM |

Stowe Gardens is $$$$. When we looked, it was around $3,000 to book it. Double check though. Its also on the outskirts of belmont and far for a Charlotte ceremony (30 plus minutes)
I love the Vanlandingham Estates, however, it will run you 40 a head for food w/o booze.
There is an old house in Mt Holly for receptions. Its a grand to rent but you get just about everything. You can buy your own booze to serve. It would be pretty for an outside ceremony. It is advertised in Carolina Bride.

$7K....wow, how much are you paying for each meal at the reception? $5? I can't imagine that budget really. I would try somewhere at Lake Norman, check out private residences, or private large properties. Even a park might work. 5/6/2006 3:27:52 PM |

we had stowe botanical gardens booked, but then the church I originally wanted was open so that is where it is going to be. Good thing too because the only time they had open was June, and it would really hot.
oh yea, and we arent having a meal, so 7-10k is do-able /thread

I guess I didn't think about that, my parents are paying for our wedding, and his dad's finance company just financed our house. So we don't even count. 5/7/2006 11:06:16 AM |
