I just broke down and got an ipod, I have a concern however. A friend informed me that everytime I hook my ipod up to my computer it resyncs and if the music I put on it is no longer on my computer in itunes it will delete it from the ipod. Is this correct? Sounds pretty shitty to me, because I don't want to keep 20G of music on my computer all the time.

Yeah, just look in the preferences and set it so that it has to manually update. 4/26/2006 7:37:53 PM |

Excellent, was worried for a second. So how exactly do I accomplish this? 4/26/2006 7:46:39 PM |

When you connect the iPod to the computer, go ahead and have iTunes open. as soon as you can tell/see the iPod is connected, go to "Preferences" in iTunes, and go to the iPod section. Check the "Manually update iPod" or something to that degree. 4/26/2006 7:52:58 PM |

i guess im an idiot too...
i was under the impression whenever you do sync it, to update, if the song isn't on your computer, it will no longer be on your ipod 4/26/2006 9:46:05 PM |

I also have a question...
I have an album that shows up in the library of my Ipod, but whenever I eject and scroll through the Ipod it is not there. I already had the band in my Ipod as (Band name), The....and the album I added was under The (Band name). What gives? Would the "The" even matter? 4/26/2006 9:49:20 PM |

any change in band name makes it into a completely separate artist. even capitalization
this would piss me off when I had, for example, 5 different "system of a down"s on my ipod, and only had like 9 songs by them. 4/26/2006 10:00:03 PM |

It's sure as hell easier than the Philips Jukebox I used to have. Fucker took hours to get right. 4/26/2006 11:27:07 PM |
