how have people not heard of Mike Patton? Oh and I read a review in some shit rag and they said it sounded like Linkin Park and gave it a C so Im kinda worried. Mike Patton can pretty much do no wrong in my book so im going to look for it on rhapsody and hopfully I dont cry.

i'm a patton fan. i'd say that i like a good 2/3 of his projects a lot. this is tasteless cornball shit, and it really isn't that far from linkin park. 6/2/2006 3:42:55 PM |

Quote : | ""I don't listen to the radio, but if I did, this is what I'd want it to sound like," Patton says of the project. "This is my version of pop music. In a way, this is an exercise for me: taking all these things I've learned over the years and putting them into a pop format."" |

cosign. totally agree.
1 listen so far and liked it the first time through. i always look foward to hearing what he'll come up w/ next. also really enjoyed the conan performance.
^^ in addition he didn't and hasn't met most of the people that contributed to the album. completed through e-mail/mp3 exchanges6/3/2006 2:08:19 AM |

I think you can tell that there was no REAL collaboration in a studio. There's just too much noise on the album, too many things fighting for your aural attention. I expected more of the amon tobin track, and I wasn't overly impressed by the rahzel track, although it's abit catchy. Maybe I need a few more listens, I don't think it's anything that special, given the huge lineup of artists 6/3/2006 4:13:42 PM |

late to the game since i started the thread, but i just got around to this one
i pretty much agree
there's too much going on (which is typical for patton and why i can't get into most of his other projects as much as i'd like)
but after a couple times through the album, i like it a lot more than i thought the first time i gave it a listen 6/12/2006 10:35:15 PM |
