When I got it from the dude before me one side wasn't working. Where the wires make contact on the board, it was only working on one channel. He just spliced the other channel's wires to that one. So it's only giving mono sound. I just need a true stereo signal. I had tried to solder the wires back to the correct channel but couldn't get a good contact. I dont know if the whole board in there will have to be replaced or if somebody else would know more about fixing it. Just wondering if I want stereo sound if I'd come out better just to replace that one. 4/27/2006 9:09:26 AM |

I'll check with 4-4. I called Guitar Center and they don't. They gave me a # for Music Tech and they don't either. 4/27/2006 8:01:35 PM |

when you opened it up did you get signal out of both leads?
And did you try a few different cartridges and needles? I thought something was fucked up with mine once and it turned out that one of the wires connecting the cartridge to the needle was broken.

it only got signal from one side. As for electronic shit I'm clueless, I had a friend helping me. When you take the cartridge off there are 4 pins inside the tone arm. One of them looks like it is pushed back just a bit and not flush with the other. I'm wondering if that might be part of the problem. I have tried other needles and cartridges with the same results, so we just spliced the right channel off the left so it gives output on both sides just isn't true stereo.
Thanks Adrock I'll check them out. I dont know of one at 5 points spookyjon. What's the name of it? I'll check into it as well.4/29/2006 3:04:32 AM |
