Any good places to get these? I'm sure they make them...I have a Toshiba Tecra and a Dell laptop and would like to find cigarette lighter adapters so they could be used in cars without draining the battery...suggestions?

You could just get a DC/AC converter from walmart and use your regular brick

or you could get one of those adapters they sell at Radioshack with plugs for different devices.

you're not talking about an inverter, right? cause it doesnt make sense to go to AC so you can go back to dc.

^^ it does when you don't want to worry about adapter tips and shit like that. With an inverter you can just plug in any laptop ac adapter without much worry.

The 150 watt inverter is cheaper than almost any decent laptop specific car adapter and you can plug in most basic consumer electronics that can charge (ipod, cell phone, etc.)

Yeah you can get inverters cheap but remember there are wattage limitations so just because you can charge your laptop doesn't mean you can use the $9.99 inverter to watch a full blown TV in your car.

targus makes them and they have different tips so a single charger is able to charge multiple devices. you have to buy them online. i have one and it's been great. actually, i''ve had 2 different ones and they were both great.

you can get a 170Watt inverter for like $30

those DC-DC adapters have power restrictions, too
