So I have a dial up connection and the phone line goes into the back of my desktop
I have an internet router that I had used to split the High speed back when I stayed on campus

You can either run the network connections wizard and select share network connection, or you can right click the network connection and select bridge connection.

i have tried all that and its still kicking my ass

On the computer with the internet connection you want to set up connection sharing. That'll set up the machine as a DHCP server and DNS proxy. Just run the network wizard and select the option to allow other computers to connect through this computer.
Run the network wizard on the second computer. Select the option to connect to the internet via another computer.
Connect the two computers using the hub ports on the router. Don't use the wan connection. You should turn off the DHCP/DNS functions on the router. You could also use a crossover cable.
Make sure both computers are part of the same workgroup. (Right click My Computer, select properties and look at the Computer Name tab). 4/29/2006 8:50:00 AM |
