Searched for umphrey's rather than um, so I didn't see that. Does it really matter anyways? 5/2/2006 9:09:22 PM |

I actually like this title better so...
Here is a nice review of the recent left coast run of the tour: http://www.kyndmusic.com/2006/04/30/umphrey%e2%80%99s-mcgee-up-and-down/
and while archive.org is nice, the podcasts off of umphreys.com are a lot easier if someone wants to hear a quick listen:

If you like rock music, electric guitar, or want to dance you should go check them out. They do seem to be on the verge of "blowing up". 5/2/2006 9:16:26 PM |

the late-night show at langerado this year
on paper it looks like
but i've seen numberous other umphrey's shows and love em, but just wasnt feelin it for some reason
maybe it was because it was dwarfed by the dirty disco biscuits show the night before
anyway i'm lookin forward tonight... should be a badass show 5/3/2006 1:55:37 PM |

Set I: Push the Pig, Padgett's Profile> Jimmy Stewart> Padgett's Profile, Morning Song, Sociable Jimmy> Example 1, Hey Nineteen> Jimmy Stewart> Mullet (Over) Set II: 40's Theme, Atmosfarag, Thin Air> Peter Gunn Theme> Every Breath You Take (Sting tease)> Thin Air, FF> Jimmy Stewart> Hangover, Der Bluten Kat Encore: Nopener (Lounge), Miss Tinkle's Overture
The first set was decent, but the second set was absolutely insane. We met a few of the band members after the show, they seem like nice guys. There weren't alot of people there last night, so we got right next to the stage, Bayliss-side. All in all, a great show. 5/4/2006 12:20:59 PM |

Yep last night's show was pretty much epic. Especially the 2nd set...
Sorry you caught a bad show nchockey... I don't like Langerado late nights because they are so far away from the daytime venue- or at least were in '05 (I missed this years)... that, and I am just exhausted after the daytime stuff (damn being old).

man, i was incredibly disappointed in the show... except for the tink's encore. 2nd set was pretty good but first set was incredibly weak. they played too many of their slower tunes, imho. it even looked to me like they were somewhat taken aback by the lack of energy in the crowd. don't get me wrong, i had a good time and i still love umphrey's, but i'd consider it the worst umph show i've ever seen
"epic"??? c'mon... you can't be throwin that word around or it'll lose its meaning 5/4/2006 11:53:29 PM |
