for any news on state peeps

Quote :
" Tramain Hall was the first of NC State's undrafted seniors to land a free agent deal on Monday when he signed with Tennessee. A slot receiver in college, Hall may be searching for a position on the NFL level. At 5-11, 190 pounds, he may be hard-pressed to fit in as a wide receiver, but his experience playing special teams at NC State could give him a shot to make the roster. After making 69 catches for 799 yards and seven touchdowns with Philip Rivers at quarterback in 2003, Hall's production fell off the last two seasons when he made 28 and 25 receptions, respectively."

Quote :
"It appears Marcus Hudson will also be making a change to a familiar position since the 49rs have him listed as a safety. A corner his freshman year, Hudson moved to free safety as a junior before switching back to corner last season."

[Edited on May 3, 2006 at 3:10 PM. Reason : i suppose fball in the title may have helped, but you guys can figure it out]

stolen from the other thread:
Quote :
"NC State seniors Brian Clark and Oliver Hoyte signed free agent contracts after not being selected in the 2006 NFL Draft.

Clark, a 6-foot-3 wide receiver, inked with the Denver Broncos. As a senior, Clark tallied 25 catches for 537 yards and a team-high six touchdowns. Clark averaged 21.5 yards per catch as the Wolfpack's go-to wideout.

Hoyte, a 6-foot-3 linebacker, signed a free agent contract with the Dallas Cowboys. He totaled 79 tackles and 8.5 tackles for loss after recording 93 tackles and 14.5 tackles for loss as a junior.

Both are products of Tampa (FL) Chamberlain High School."

Quote :
"C State lineman Derek Morris has signed a free agent contract with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Morris went undrafted in the 2006 NFL Draft after declaring following his junior season.

The 6-foot-5, 332-pound offensive tackle played in 25 games (22 starts) during his collegiate career at North Carolina State. He started all 11 games at right tackle as a senior for the Wolfpack.

He earned first-team USA Today and Parade All-America honors as a senior at North Mecklenberg High School in Huntersville, North Carolina.

Morris has been assigned No. 74 by the Chiefs. "

Did I say I expected Jay Davis to sign with a team? No. Every player that entered the draft (through leaving early or being a senior) is now on a team, except for Jay Davis. Yes, Jay Davis was rated for the draft and everything. No, he will not sign.

^ the game i remember it was the other way around

he got a false start on one series, then a personal foul and the following series (he was one of 10 people pushing & shoving). when he came of the field, the coach shoved him in the chest and the proceded to bitch him out when he knew the entire section was watching the situation (which was a bit over the top)

Yup, dead on.
As well as 1 personal foul, 1 holding, and 1 unsportsmanlike conduct.

so basically, people are riding him for that 1 game where he had a bunch of flags close together? Jay davis isn't even as hated as D.Mo, and he fucked us over way more. It's because Jay is white.

Heard today that Jay Davis had signed a free agent contract with one of those Florida teams, Tampa maybe? Couldn't find it online but that is just what I was told... thought I'd throw that in the mix although I can't imagine him ever sticking w/ any1

there are other players than Jay Davis that actually played that did not get signed, like John Ritcher and Renaldo "Bird Man" Moses. If anyone signs Jay Davis I will never ever ever ever ever watch football again.

he's definitely tall enough (see steve smith @ 5'9")

joey galloway and terry glenn are 5'11" and weigh in the 190s

he'd be fine most other places, but tennessee has a lot of good young WRs (bennett, calico, roby, b. jones, etc)

he could push roydell williams for the 5th wr spot though

^exactly, a receiver over 6'3" doesn't have to be blazing fast, he makes up for lack of speed with size. Likewise a really fast receiver doesn't have to be very big, but a blend of the two is worse than either, as far as nfl teams are concerned. That being said, he'll get a chance to show his skills, and hopefully he does well, b/c performance trumps all.

i hope T. Hall does great things in the NFL. he could have easily went elsewhere, but he didn't. he played very hard for us, and bled Red and White. too bad he didn't have good QB play to get him the ball like his first year. i still remember his punt return for a TD against WCU, which was like him announcing that he had finally arrived.
