there is definately an opportunity cost to going on the road, but I don't think they will have to replace a home game for this, i am sure there are spots for games open in the next 2-4 years, just plug em in, so its not like you have to count all the revenues from a home game against NC state for this, just the extra expense of traveling to the Big Easy!

Yeah but no major school ever just goes on the road for the hell of it, so its definitely an opportunity cost.

You either play a home and home against a team or you take/give a big check.

This is college basketball, there are no free lunches.

Giving someone a free game would be like Sears giving away free HDTVs for a week, it just doesnt happen.


I know that for a WOMENS game we have pay like $20,000 just to get small schools to come play us at home... Im not sure what the multiplier is for mens basketball but im sure its over $100K

larry harris is back as well. Lowe, Harris, Towe.....not a bad staff so far. Harris is a hell of a recruiter and is supposedly like a best friend to all of the players. Towe brings in the head coaching assistance for Lowe that he will need with the college game.

Dude, hell yeah. If Ced stays and Wright re-commits, holy shit... that's like we lost NOTHING in the whole thing and gained a better coach who will run a more exciting offense and let the players play as opposed to calling a timeout in regulation, OT1, and OT2 in the waning seconds only to not get off A SINGLE FUCKING SHOT (see: NCSU v. BC game)

I think most of us "herb lovers" didn't necessarily think Herb was the sun and the moon so much as we thought:

he was making progress
we would take a big hit if he left
wanted the fans to be positive for the sake of our players & recruiting
didn't want to have the mess of having to fire someone

But i think lowe will kick ass and i couldn't be more excited
If he brings back Ced and Wright I think he will have a great head start
