I'm going to Europe (preferably flying into Frankfurt), does anyone have any suggestions on the cheapest website to buy tickets, cheapest days to fly etc. I've found a ticket for $689 roundtrip on expedia.

Thanks

The best recommendation I can tell ya is to look at every website you can think of. When it comes to Frankfurt, there are so many possibilities. I got a flight from RDU to FRA for ~$560, took about a weeks worth of searching but it was a better deal than student universe (I got it on Travelocity). You just got to keep your eyes open for deals, and they could happen anywhere. If you need to buy one pretty fast, I'd go with studentuniverse.com

~680 is good if you're not booking a million years in advance.

Take it

idk when you're going, all the details, etc, but ultimatefares.com has given me good prices. i'm looking for a cross-country flight, possibly, and their prices are better than that student site, and orbitz. haven't looked elsewhere yet.

I am planning to leave on the 22nd of May and coming back 8th of june. I don't care what time my flight leaves or who I fly (even number of stops), just about the price.

you might want to look at flying out of charlotte douglass if possible. Whenever I've flown to Germany (which if often, because my mom is from there, and my grandmother lives there), we fly from Charlotte direct to Frankfurt, and it's usually not too expensive. I think some airline has a major connection there that goes to Germany (I want to say US Air for some reason), but if you're willing to drive 2 hours down 40/85 it's worth it.

^ Yeah, US Air in Charlotte has a non-stop daily flight to / from Frankfurt. I've taken that exact flight about 4 times in the last couple of months. It depends on what days you fly and also what month. Sometimes you can get that flight for around $600, but I flew it in April and $1,000 was the cheapest ticket on that route. I'm actually on the Munich to Charlotte Lufthansa flight right now (Lufthansa's long haul flights have wifi broadband internet access, thank God) and I would definitely suggest them as a great choice to get to Germany. Usually their tickets are pretty cheap, the planes are nice, and you get much better service that on the US airlines. I bought this ticket 4 days before my flight, and I wouldn't suggest doing that at all unless you absolutely have to and are ok with your wallet getting ass raped. Of course, I just fly through Germany on my way to Prague, so you're tickets will likely be cheaper if Germany is your final destination.

I've compared prices flying from raleigh and charlotte. The best price from Raleigh is $677 and from Charlotte is $592. I don't know if its worth the time and money to book the Charlotte flight to save $85.

BTW I flew Lufthansa from Germany to Canada and they were nice. Just lookin to get a deal on this one though.
