I'm going to build one, esp now since compusa has the pvr-150 for $60 this week.

I've already decided to stick with windows platform and not linux, so freevo is out of the question.
GBPVR is totally free. BeyondTV4 costs $60.

Is GBPVR good enough or is beyondTV4 worth the $60?

Thanks

I used the trial version of BeyondTV back when I actually put my tv tuner to work. It's a good program, and I was impressed with it way back when.

yeah apparently the GO TV is really nice especially for free. I would also say look into a dual tuner card its totally worth it and almost essential if you have several people recording things. If you want to go windows, the Media Center Edition is actually cheaper than XP pro in many if not all places. Thats what I run since I planned the system for not only myself but all my non techie roomates/family and really the interface is pretty nice.

Didn't yet, my home PC screwed up (or rather I shot a screw into my north bridge) then my HD crapped out 2 days later, so I lack the funds as of now

Go TV is still complete crap compared to Meedio, even though GoTV is the yahoo-bought-out-meedio version
