I took it with Huyck this semester

The assignments are something like this: (percentages might be off 5-10%)

Introduction Memo - 10%
Resume/Cover Letter - 15%
Oral Presentation - 5%
Oral Presentation - 10%
Final exam (oral presentation 3) - 15%
Group Project - 25%
Contribution Memo - 10%
Group Progress Memo - 10%

Basically the one group project at the end sucks. You have to write a how-to guide. If you get Huyck, be aware thats shes a really tough grader, reallllllllllllly picky.

Her grade distribution says like 80% A's and 20% B's, but in reality like 90% of the class either gets a B+ or an A-, so dont expect an A, and DEF dont expect an A+

thanks for letting me know. I don't know who I'd have, it still says "staff."
How lengthy were the oral presentations?

I assume you're a BUS major; take ENG 331 online w/ Trunzo instead

I took it last year during Summer Session II and it was extremely easy for a 300-level class; the assignments you do actually are really useful, but she just doesn't require that MUCH which makes it very managable.

Her summer syllabus required 5 mini-projects; her full semester syllabus for the same class required 13. You do the math

am I allowed to take that one? For some reaosn I thought I'd have to take the other because it's for bus majors? I'm an accounting major. I think I'll try and get into the online class.

I'm a (was, yay!) BUS major, concentration in Operations...in my degree audit if you click on the 300-level ENG, it states I can take 331, 332, or 333 and it'll count towards that requirement.

Check your degree audit, and if you can take 331, do it. It's a really helpful class and one that'll probably help your GPA.

i took ENG 332 Online w/ Huyck this semester

there are 10 "graded" assignments where 2 consist of working with your group members.. there's 4 people per group and she picks who is in your group. the 10 assignments are made up of things like memos, resume & cover letter, proposal, informal report, powerpoint slide design, and a formal report (which is your 'final exam' and is worth 1/3 of your grade)

there are also weekly assignments where you have to 'post your response to reading assignments' and is counted as your 'participation'.. there is an assignment due EVERY WEEK that is just for participation.. graded assignments are sometimes due on the same day as 'participation assignments'

for me, i have a hard time writing.. but the assignments aren't too difficult, they're just a pain when you've got other classes to concentrate on too

Namwob is right, Huyck is a tough grader and wants you to 'pay attention to detail'.. you have to read her assignments very thoroughly (example: she counted off points for not putting our name on our assignments.. which are submitted online)

so, yeah, i've been telling people to take her in a lecture class instead if you want to take her.. i have a friend who took her lecture class and it seemed easier than the online stuff she makes you do

i would suggest maybe e-mailing the teacher you want to take and asking which sections they're teaching

I just dropped it from my schedule and added ACC 340 in its place. All of the online classes are filled up. I'll keep checking to see if something opens up, but for now I'm taking ACC 340 instead. Thank you so much for all of the info on this, I'm definitely going to take it online. Maybe I'll email the online instructors, too.
