I just finished up some crap with an Incomplete that turned into an F. How long does it normally take to have that F finally changed to the correct grade? I know some of it is up to Dr. Griggs, who has to do it, I assume. But is it a bunch of paperwork and shit?

I'm just excited to see my transcript, etc finally look BETTER. Yay for F -> A+

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking.

I was sick last Spring 05, and missed my MA 231 exam. It was right at the end of the exam week, so my TA gave me an Incomplete, and said I could take care of it in August. My teacher left NCSU w/o letting me know this, and in the fall, I wasn't able to get it taken care of, so it turned into an F. Dr. Griggs finally set something up, and I took another professor's MA 231 final exam last week, and that is going to be my grade in the class. It was Tuesday when I took the exam and got my grade, and the professor said she was going to send the info on to Dr. Griggs. How long does it take for an old grade to be changed to the correct one?

R&R is usually pretty fast about the change (1 or 2 days) once they receive the paperwork. Getting the paperwork there is another matter ... if you aren't hand-delivering it, you might want to call the last person you know you handed it off to and try to track it down.

This sounds like a pretty unique situation so the amount of time it could take could be anything. I would guess that it's similar to a standard grade change situation. Thus, it will happen as fast as the paperwork changes hands. This can takes days to weeks to months depending on how long it takes for people to get around to signing it. I had a grade corrected once and it took 12 weeks. Actually, it took a week once I let the professor know my grade still hadn't changed and he determined the departmental office lost the paperwork.

honestly, even though the professor left, i'm still suprised the problem could have lasted this long with you still actually getting a grade in the class

well, Dr. Griggs ignored my numerous emails, was never in his office, and I had all my classes at Centennial Campus last semester. So I didn't have much time/opportunity to try to catch him in his office. I finally went by during this semester, b/c i actually had a class in Harrelson, and he was there. He pretty much told me "Oh...yea....well, your teacher never left me an exam..........(So I basically decided to ignore all of your emails)." My TA also didn't leave any other grades. But, he got me the contact email of my TA. After my TA didn't answer the emails, for about a week, I talked to P. Dail, who emailed Dr. Griggs. And in about 1hr's time, P.Dail and Griggs decided that it would be okay for me to take the final exam of another professor. And ambrosia was taking MA 231 this year, so I talked to her prof, and she agreed to let me take the exam whenever I'd like to. So I waited to take it after I was done with all my other classes and exams.

Yeah, words. It's a long, stupid story, but I'm glad it's finally getting taken care of.

anybody have any experience with grade changes for the ECE department? I had a form with all the required signatures, so all the professor really needed to do was enter the new grade and submit the form (this was about 2-3 weeks ago). I emailed the professor asking about the grade change a week ago, and he replied that he submitted it through the ece department and it'll take several weeks. So right now I'm still waiting..........
