Sorry if this has been discussed before. I searched but didnt find anything. I have a Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop that has 2x256MB DDR2 PC2-4200 memory. I am definitely looking to upgrade but the laptop can also support PC2-5300 memory. Should I go with the faster one (will it make a difference?) or save some money and go with the slower one? Any help is appreciated.

It really won't make that much of a difference. If you're going to replace the current memory entirely and it's only a few bucks more for the faster memory anyways, go ahead. If it's going to cost you more than 40 bucks difference, it's probably not worth it.

Also, I've had problems with generic ram not working in dell laptops before. Probably not an issue with any of the newer ones, but maybe make sure wherever you get it from has a liberal return policy.
