i got a similar question too. if i use a 512mb and a 256mb 2700 ddr, is there some kind of performance hit? i've heard you should use 2x256 or 2x512. 5/21/2006 1:24:43 PM |

The RAM only has to be symmetric for dual channel. The performance hit for asymmetric is so low that you'll never notice. 5/21/2006 2:53:54 PM |

^ unless you are using shared RAM/VRAM (integrated graphics).
If you have a graphics card then it is no big deal - if you are running internal graphics then you need all the RAM speed you can get. 5/21/2006 10:12:08 PM |
