I have this old 1934 Zenith cabinet radio and I am looking to restore the cabinet. I have the actual radio and it works! Pretty amazing with all its vacuum tubes and all. But if anyone has any ideas/places to go or contact, it would be great. 5/22/2006 8:54:55 PM |

You just want the wood restored? It wouldn't be that hard to do yourself. Might be tedious if it has a lot of design in it. 5/22/2006 8:56:15 PM |

If you need vacuum tubes I've got the hookup. New in packages, dating back as far as 1942. 5/22/2006 9:01:14 PM |

FYI that's a restored one, not mine. And, that's not exactly what mine is/looks like, but it's very very close. Same type of wood and pin striping... 5/22/2006 9:07:59 PM |

Go to Lowes or Home Depot, get a few packs of sandpaper, ranging from 60-220 grit and start sanding.. Once you get it smooth enough and if you have to repair any holes or anything then find a stain you like and stain it a few times. Once you get the stain right I might would add a few coats of polyurethane to protect your finish. Take your time and be patient and you will be happy once your done. Rush and get impatient and it will turn out like shit. 5/22/2006 9:12:04 PM |
