Ok so the time has come to choose a spray in liner for the silverado, I've got quotes from Line-X and Rhino, and I'm more familiar with Rhino as I've seen and used more trucks with it. I'm going for over the rails and forsee just normal household use, AKA no hauling large loads of rocks or stuff like that, but just normal things that people do with their trucks, pallets, mulch, and whatever else I find to throw back there. Just looking for some feedback from those of you that have either or... thanks

i was at the Line-X shop off glenwood ave. one day getting a quote. There was a dodge getting it's bed sprayed. It currently had RhinoLiner sprayed in it. The owner of the truck hated it. He had taken it back to RL several times for peeling issues. He finally had had enough and somehow, so he claims, talked RL into paying for the Line-X. the Line-X guy was showing me how shitty RL really is. He took a screwdriver and easily pryed up a corner of the RL off of the tailgate then easily removed the rest by hand. it all peeled up in one piece. I wouldn't put anything other than Line-X on my shit.

^^ yeah he still has some of those pieces that he uses for demonstration at the shop. There is truely a difference inbetween the two. I'm leaning towards Line-X at this time.. even though it is way more $$$$$

i say line-x. stuff is durable as can be. only thing I have seen destroy it is heat. My CJ was missing a heat shield over the cat and it caused the line-x to bubble and eventually peel but I got a heat shield installed and line-x redone and no problems. I have taken a screwdriver to it and had no issues with any scratches or anything.


on another note. does anyone know if i could spray herc liner myself? I know i might need a special tip for the gun or something but I was wondering if was even possible. I have a compressor and spray gun.

i have rhino liner in the back of my Tacoma and I've yet to have any issues with it. I haul stuff similar and as often as it sounds you will and it has never peeled up or torn, chipped, ripped, etc. I have it over the rail as well.

another vote for line-x here... have it inside our enclosed trailer as well as a couple of the trucks at work... holding up remarkably well

the rhino liner in my friends land cruiser was easily an 1/8th of an inch thick when the inside and the bottom of the tub were done he'd lost almost a full inch of lift due to the weight of the stuff.
but in his application it proved damned near indestructible

hey, ratle can bedliner has one use and one use only. It can turn a old beater wooden stock into a flat black non slip easy grip stock. Great way to fix up an old beat to hell duck gun, or to spruce up the gun you keep behind the door/behind the seat. It ends up looking almost synthetic stockwise, helps protect the gun if you abuse it, and makes it much harder to lose the gun when delaing with rain mud ect in a swamp.

yeah i've used both the spray in and roll in stuff for different applications through the years, and while they did a good job at what they were used for, neither would I even consider putting in a truck bed!
