I retract my former statement. I am running Yokohama Geolander P255/65 R16's currently. Would like to run the largest offroad tire on a 1998 Discovery I without having to lift it. Adjusting the steering stops are expected.

so you want to stuff huge tires under a stock fratmobile, and limit your steering and suspension travel, sounds like a great plan, in fact it sounds fratastic, why don't you add a roof rack, and 62 lights?

Well, before you get all cunty (too late), I tow a significant amount and like to keep the nice stiff suspension it currently has. I have had lifted vehicles in the past, and with loaded trailers it makes the vehicle less stable and more prone to fishtailing.

I am not one of those people who go out and drive up up some mound of dirt and use it as a photo op to show off my suspenion. I go offroad, but I keep it moderate as I am not going to risk ruining my daily driver. I had absolutely no problem at Uwharrie on everything below the rockcrawler trails. I am putting differential guards and maybe some rock sliders for an additional sense of security. I would like a more appropriate offroad tire and perhaps a little more ground clearance I have now without sacrificing stability and a decent on road ride.

and as far as tires go i printed the tirerack price and got 4wheelparts in charlotte to match their price and i got the warranty. that thing already paid for itself. just a thought

These are the diff guards I got... 1/4" carbon steel, weld on. They are heavy as hell and will do the job.
