I'll post here from now on about my car. This will show what I have, the work, and final results.
Today my remote oil pumps arrived.
Freebie: 6 370cc 300ZX TT fuel injectors

First bit
http://www.thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=389653

Some parts
http://www.thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=394119

Rolled my fenders to fit wider tires
http://www.thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=412285

The history
From this with just wheels and upgraded speakers.

New wheels, look at the gap

Then I got new suspension installed

The old stereo

The exhaust, old and new

Hood scoop and custom intake added

The missing interior

Not that anyone cares, but that is the life of the maxima to date. The wideband is scheduled for next week. Then I have plumbing and install left. The free injectors was a great benifit to the project.
This will be updated as I make progress in the project.

I think think those actually look really good. It's just a clean 5 spoke design. Just my $.02.

Yes, I plan on keeping it after I graduate. I have had this car for over 6 years so far.
The point of this thread is showing the turbos go on.

i can't fathom why you would chose that car as a platform for "build up" but whatever floats your boat... i like the color... just not a fan of the mustang wheels

IMO, if you are going to rip out interior, rip every piece out that you can. im talkin carpet, panels and everyting, not just a dash and some seats.

now if you are club racing, and they require a dash, or a door panel, then ok.

The car no longer has any sound deadening or carpet. It is fully stripped.

I already have this car, and in a way "love it", so that is why I chose this platform to build off of.
The pulled fenders are slightly evident in these pictures.

My new fuel injectors arive on monday, I'm picking up the oil pumps from greensboro tomorrow, my wideband is in the mail.

In less than three weeks, I should start and complete the install.

My wideband is a LC-1 from
http://www.dynotunenitrous.com/store/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=150

These are the last parts that I needed to price hunt for.
The piping and plumbing is being ordered in less than a week.

I pulled the fenders with a $6 baseball bat.

Yeah, I towed the 3600lb volvo with my maxima about 7 miles to its current location.

I have a new engine and trans in line for when I blow this one. My friend's dad 'collects' maxima, and has 5 of them. I am going to buy one, build the motor, and swap in the manual transmision. Cost of new car (engine, trans, body) is $800. So much for the "all this for an auto" comment.

Yes, they are mustang wheels. I am currently looking for a set of '95 Mustang Cobra R wheels.

There is only a head unit and 4.5'' speakers in the car now as far as the stereo goes.

It's only 4 maxima's (3 '92/'93 SEs, 1 '95) and a drivetrain. 5 would include the one my brother totaled. Come on man, get it straight.

Yeah, I'm from Charlotte.

I'm still working on that rear bumper for the GTI. It took the backburner for this project.

I hit a dilema today. I can finish the maxima turbos, or I can buy a set of coilovers for the maxima. I found a deal for some D2 coilovers, for $650. The list on them is $1200.
http://www.d2racingsports.com.au/d2suspension.html

I'm thinking finish one thing at a time, and hope I can get this deal again later.

Didn't you already replace the suspension?

Personally I would finish the turbos, then worry about suspension. You may find your needs changing a lot once you get the pwr up.

Not bashing at all, 100% out of curiousity...

What is the purpose of this car?

If you're not going to track/autox it, then I don't think you need coilovers. Even if you do, unless you're planning on getting pretty serious about it, again... I don't think they're necessary. Sure, if you have the cheddar for both power mods and suspension, then who cares, why the hell not... but that doesn't seem like the issue.

I do autocross the maxima. I probably don't need the coils, but I am still looking for stiffer suspension.

It is possible that you saw me. I went to Souther States Mazda as well as the Cary AAA today for work. I love being payed to drive around raleigh.

I thought you already had coilovers. What's the advantage of this set?

I have replaced the springs and struts with Eibach Prokit springs, and tokico Blue struts.
The coilovers are stiffer, have dampening adjustability, and have adjustable height. All in all, they perform better.

damping not dampening

if you're not going to adjust the height/damping/spring rate, coilovers are useless. you wont see a performance gain unless you are driving the car very hard. unless you plan to race it and want to be competitive, keep what you have.

Sounds like I will be sticking with the turbo first.
The oil pumps are sitting in front of me now. I'll have the oil lines by the end of the week. Then I just need to buy exhaust tubing.

Not to give you a hard time, but this whole "plumbing" matter is hardly trivial... Please explain how you plan to bolt up a turbo to an N/A manifold. Is there some kind of adapter you have purchased or fabricated? Or do you have a whole different manifold? I think it's really ghetto that you don't have an intercooler, even a shitty side or top-mounted one.

Did you modify the oil pan for the oil lines? What are you doing for coolant lines?
