as a huge wrestling fan, "Heartbreak and Triumph" by Shawn Michaels was pretty much the most entertaining book i've read. he's been one of my role models for years, so i really enjoyed it.
if graphic novels count, i also count "Kingdom Come." Now, it has its critics, but the first time I read it, I couldn't put it down.
and finally, The Book of Revelations is one of my favorites. I know, I know, "stupid brainwashed christian pushes views on message board" but the imagery and interpretations of that book make it a truly thought-provoking read. 6/14/2006 7:56:38 PM |

no im not 13. they are just "classics" that i still like after all these years. are they the BEST books ive ever read? probably not. i read a lot. however these are books that mean something to me outside of the book itself. ill explain more after this quote..

The Lord of the Rings trilogy is some of my favorite reading ever, as well as other fantasy stories such as the wheel of time series etc. The reason i love The Hobbit (and read it usually once a year) is because this book opened me up to the world of fantasy. Because of this book i became interested in a genre of writing and games that was a big part of my reading/movies/games growing up. (altho i blame the hobbit indirectly for my obession with WoW >.< And because of this, The Hobbit remains a book that i can read over and over and still enjoy.
its kind of like the same concept as the reason why so many ppl's favorite album by a band is one of their earliest, or the first they heard by the band. its like that with so many bands i listen to. that album made the impression and while it may not be the best, its always enjoyable and kind of special to you.
good books ive read within the past year:
The Perks of Being a Wallflower- Stephen Chbosky The Great Divorce - C.S. Lewis The Screwtape Letters - C.S. Lewis Cat's Cradle - Kurt Vonnegut
