This may be out of my league... actually im sure it is... But i recently acquired a Brinkman Recirculating Chiller from my work for free... they were going to throw it away. Heres a link or two incase you need to know what one is or detailed specs.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7626810611

http://www.usedlabequip.com/details.aspx?itemID=99

OK... so this thing pumps a good bit of water (1.5 gallon or so) at a good rate... have to look that up... and if i use about a 20% glycol mix i can get it running at -15 Degrees Celsius... (the liquid that is).

Now my plan is to branch out the 1/2 inch diameter outflow tube to my cpu/ graphics card/ and maybe ram... and then loop all that back into in the inflow on the unit. I plan on using Deionized water/Glycol(antifreeze mix) just incase of leaks.

Now for the help... Im a newb at water cooling so im going to be vary careful about this and do alot of testing before i hook everything up... but i need input on the best blocks/antifreeze/and tubing to use... Specifically the blocks... whats the best on the market... im looking at Buying from Newegg but could go with another company.... Also any other thoughts would be Helpfull... Thanks guys... If i didnt say anything or more info is needed just ask... ill be checking this 4 times a day if not more for a while....

Oh yeah.... Specs:
AMD Xp Barton 2500+...
Rosewill RP500 ATX Power supply
OCZ Performance Series DDR 3200 (2x512 MB)
ABIT KW7 Socket A Kt880
Chaintech Sa6800 -128

the pump on that thing wouldnt work well with mineral oil.... if condensation becomes a prob i might use mineral to submerge the whole thing... but still use line and chiller and blocks to cool componenets...

that is a poor chipset and processor combination for overclocking, especially without extremely high quality ram

if you branch it out you may want a distribution block so that you can either valve it to control flow because you need more for the cpu than the ram and video card or use different diameter tubing

http://www.overclockers.com

Read anything and everything you possibly can--their forums are the shit, too. Good luck...
Oh, and there's no point in using colder than the current air temperature water, it only prduces condensation and then you have to seal your motherboard with grease and Dow-Corning conformal coating. I would seriously just use a standard water cooling setup.

Oh--and as a n00b to watercooling, the LAST thing you need to be doing is using active watercooling--just use a passive system like everyone else at least for your first go-around.

dude, you should listen to what we told you in the other thread.

#1 doing this as a first jump into watercooling is an absolute recipe for disaster. I garauntee if you go with any sub 0 setup you are going to fry your shit.

If you REALLY want to do this, start with a basic water cooling kit, buy a 50 dollar old computer to try it on, and blow it up. But you and your money would be better off learning something useful.

thanks for the suggestions... I'm willing to blow this computer up as is... thats why im using it... its a summer project...... but ok... all your suggestions are noted.... Aficionado... could you recommend a good distribution block or site to get one?

atleast be smart and cool the ram and chipset if you insist on fucking your shit up.

^^Dude we aren't hating on you.

We are trying to give you a voice of reason. It's a lot of time and money for very little payback. This will not save you money.

What's the point of doing it? It's nothing new, it's not giving you any worthwhile result other than just doing it, and its expensive.

so how many people have oc'd something for longer than the few hours needed to benchmark something?

*raises hand*

now keep your hand up if the oc netted more than a 10% gain in performance

*keeps hand up*

if your hand isn't up, you really should shut the fuck up and stop encouraging this non-sense

I kept my XP1700+ (1.466GHz) at 2.3GHz for a year (on water, of course).
DangerDen Maze2, ViaAqua1300, DTek Heatercore, Tygon R-3603 tubing.
All that stuff is old school now...damn I was doing this shit in 9th grade--made a "bong" cooler first, but the noise got annoying so I went to an inline system. In fact I still have that very system running...

*holds hand up*

I was doing it just for bragging rights--I could literally say that I had the fastest computer at school and everone knew it. Note that I didn't play games or anything, I just overclocked the shit out of it. I spent $$$ on it and for what? To make my IMs go faster? To make Word open 0.00001s quicker? To forget to plug in the pump and have my CPU melt the tubing and let the water drain out all over my video card? Yes that happened once...kinda ironic that I was taking a shower at the same time that my computer was showering. Thankfully I took it all apart right after finding out, put at fan on it, and it worked fine when I came home from school.

So what if Q3A was going 200fps? With my monitor set on 100Hz I can't SEE those 200fps so I can't get any benefit from it.

There are some things that I can see overclocking for, but for a personal computer it's only good for bragging rights. If you're doing some serious number crunching (see: CAD) I can understand how it MIGHT be beneficial, but the power gain/$ that you put into it won't be worth it. In the long run I would just spend my money on a faster system.

In the end I got out of overclocking, bought an iMac G5, and now spend my money on my new hobby of scuba diving. (and lived happily ever after)

There was this one guy in my Cisco class in high school who tried to tell me that he got 2.8GHz out of a Duron...on air...in 2003. I was like and almost bitchslapped him.

Edit--damn that might have even been in 2002 since we had Cisco both semesters...
